Anonymous Asked:
Why didn't you like DCP!?

My answer:

Oh no, it wasn’t that I didn’t like the DCP. I feel very fortunate to have participated and I learned a lot. There were just portions of it that left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
Mostly related to housing and how horribly, in my opinion, housing is run. I had a very poor experience with almost every aspect of housing from roommates to security to maintenance… It made for very frustrating times.
I also, personally, worked in a place where many cast members got away with things that I felt should not have let slide. Behavioral things, guest interactions, etc. I didn’t feel that my workplace was very focused on bringing the Disney magic we were, as CM’s, to strive for. I often felt the need to apologize to Guests because of the behavior of some of my coworkers.
I feel very fortunate to have the benefits of free park admittance, discounts, access to classes and amazing resources to further myself both professionally and personally.

Overall, I am recommending the CP to people who have done their research. You’re not going to make money. You’ll get enough for gas and food, so don’t expect to go on shopping sprees or anything, but if you make good friends and make smart choices, you’ll have a wonderful time.
